Welcome to your classrooms

Dear Prestudent teachers,
I know you are settling into your respective classrooms these days. We are very appreciative of your Host Teachers who have agreed to work with you during your Phase II of your prestudent teaching experience. Thank you for assisiting your Host Teachers with registering on the FSP.

Thank you for posting your Lesson #1 Plans and your PDPs on your web pages. Hopefully you had time to review your lesson plans with your Host teachers and receive valuable feedback. Lesson plans are the tools of your trade, so value this professional learning by asking questions and being as receptive as you can with your Host Teachers.

Remember to take time to team teach with your Host Teacher before you begin taking on a subject by yourself. Your 10 days of teaching are the culmination at the end of your Phase II experience. Take time to learn the classroom routines, student names and subject standards as you scaffold to your capstone 10 days of consistent teaching in one subject. Dialgogue in written format (emailing, chatting, etc.) with your Host Teachers about issues, concerns that may arise at least once.

During your 10 days of consistently teaching, please remember to videotape at least one lesson, reflect on it and post it to your web page. Your Host Teacher will observe you and conduct a formal observation during this time. It is optional, and you may invite your principal to observe you and write a formal observation of your teaching.

I will be scheduling to visit you during your 10 days of teaching.
We will schedule our final conferences with your Host Teachers during the first week of December at your schools.

Happy Teaching and looking forward to visiting you!
Frances
